    Deno Kazanis was born in Chicago and educated at the University of Illinois (B.S. in Physics), the University of Cincinnati (M.S. in Physics), and at The Pennsylvania State University (Ph.D. in Biophysics). He was a Hargitt Fellow and Research Associate at Duke University for two years. He currently lives in Tampa, Florida.

    In addition to his western academic training, he has studied Tibetan Buddhism under Khenpo Konchog Gyaltsen of the Drikung Kagyu Lineage, and Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche and Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche both of the Karma Kagyu Lineage. He has also studied with Dr. Yeshi Donden, former physician to His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

    Additionally, he has studied Daoism with Master Mantak Chia; Taijiquan (tai chi) under lineage students of Cheng Man-ching; and Wai Tan Kung, a Taiwanese form of qigong.

    His latest book is The Reintegration of Science and Spirituality: Subtle Bodies, Dark Matter and Dark Energy. Styra, 2013.
